Arranging a meet up with my friends Hazel and Beth, with a balance bike to keep Evie amused, we set off on a flat river path walk along Great Langdale Beck from Elterwater to Skelwith Bridge.
Evie is desperate to walk the walk – not this time little Bean. The river is rampaging on just the other side.
Our plans are thwarted – the path and the river have become one. Evie thought it looked exciting to bike into but was soon stopped. 
so turnaround we must.
Back into the car and all wet we head to Grasmere for some food instead. What a washout!
